Study on Effects of the Senior Job Security Project based on Sen¡¯s Human Capability

Abstract

This study initiated from the notions that evaluation on effects of the Senior Job Security Project had to be focused on well being of the attendants which was the ultimate aim of the project, well as that theoretical and methodological limitations of previous studies. The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of the Senior Job Security Project based on Sen`s Human Capability which emphasized capability to select and realize what he/she wanted to do or being. This study used data from 1000 project attendants or those who were on the waiting list. Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyze the data. The results of this study showed that the project positively and directly impacted on physical, psychological, and mental achieved functioning of the subjects. Also, indirect impacts of the project on psychological, mental, social, and economic achieved functioning through personal income were confirmed. Theoretical implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
